How To Design A Beautiful Bedroom
Thursday, February 26th, 2009If you are looking at re-designing your bedroom then look no further than contract furniture where you can find beautiful quality items at an affordable price.
Until recent times the primary function of a bedroom is a place to sleep. With so many varying types furniture available, homeowners are now expanding this function from just a sleeping room into a relaxation room, a space to chill out, read a book or watch TV. When remodelling your bedroom consider how you want to use it. A romantic and relaxing haven is a must for many bedrooms and this can be achieved with many traditional and modern furniture designs.
Colours are very important when looking at any décor. Traditionally pinks and reds are seen as romantic, warm colours befitting a sensual bedroom. If pinks and reds are not your thing then shades of cream and peach also work well. If you like to read in your bedroom, look at where you could add a chair. If space is an issue then a few firm but comfortable cushions on the bed will provide you with a cosy place to get stuck into a good book. You can enhance the feel of your chosen colours by adding some mirrors with candles placed close by. The colours of your room will then be reflected around the room along with the glow from the candles.
Lighting is another important consideration when looking at the décor of your bedroom. For a relaxing ambiance you want to avoid any bright lights. Similarly, if you like to use your bedroom as a place to read you don’t want dim lights which will cause you to strain your eyes…this won’t be the relaxing experience you are looking for. Therefore, plenty of soft strategically placed lighting is the best way forward. If you have a designated reading area or dressing table, lighting should be placed here and possible beside the bed. Shade such as ivory and amber will create a soft, sensual effect without being too bright or too dark.
If you do want to use your bedroom as a place for relaxation and reflection then there is no better addition than photographs and pictures. Looking at scenic landscapes and photos of happy times gone by can help you focus on the good things in life which enable you to strive for your ambitions even in the dullest of times. With so many styles of picture frames available, you are sure to find some that fit the overall theme or design of your new bedroom
For those people where space is not an issue when they remodel their master bedroom, why not add a few extra touches like a small desk to write on and perhaps some music to listen to. Small refrigerators in wooden cabinets are also becoming a popular addition along with tea or coffee making facilities in the same way that most nice hotels have. As you spend time remodelling your master bedroom in a way that reflects your lifestyle, it can be a worthwhile project and who knows, you may find yourself spending even more time in this often undervalued room.
